Box Office Report: ‘Joker 2’ Suffers Historic Fall As ‘Terrifier 3’ Lands On Top

Terrifier 3’ has unleashed its terror at the domestic box office, earning first place. The third Terrifier instalment is set to open with an impressive-low of $16 million from 1,988 theaters.

Meanwhile, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ was hit with the worst decline in comic book movie history, and one of the biggest drops among any film to ever release in theaters.

Elsewhere, the critically acclaimed DreamWorks animation feature ‘The Wild Robot’ is in its third weekend, projected to earn another $13.9 million from 3,854 cinemas.

‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ continues strong, even though the film is now available on home VOD, and ended up in third place with $7.2 million from 2408 locations, crossing the $275 million domestic box office (in its sixth weekend). This means that Burton’s six-week old film is (also) beating Todd Phillips’ Joker sequel.

Joker 2’ has an estimated second weekend earning of $6.6 million from 4,102 theaters — a record decline of 82%.
