‘Wolfs’ Starring George Clooney & Brad Pitt Receives 5-Minute Standing Ovation At Venice Film Festival 2024

George Clooney and Brad Pitt reunite once again in their 23-year on-screen partnership with ‘Wolfs.’
The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival out of competition at the Sala Grande, and was concluded with a five-minute standing ovation.
Clooney and Pitt jokingly danced to Sade’s ‘Smooth Operator’ as the credits rolled while greeting fans on their way to the exit.
Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Amy Ryan and Austin Abrams were also in attendance.
Sony won a global theatrical distribution deal for ‘Wolfs’ last December, but Apple pivoted on its original wide theatrical, opting for a limited theatrical release on September 20 followed by a global debut on Apple TV+ seven days later.
‘Wolfs’ synopsis: Hired to cover up a high-profile crime, a fixer soon finds his night spiralling out of control when he's forced to work with an unexpected counterpart.
Clooney and Pitt remain disappointed by Apple’s decision to throw their films on streaming so soon.
“Yes, we wanted it to be released, we’ve had some bumps along the way, that happens,” said Clooney. “There are elements of this that we are figuring out… It is a bummer, of course it’s a bummer. On the other hand, a lot of people are going to see the film and we are getting a release in a few hundred theaters, but, yeah, it would have been nicer to have a wide release.”
